Good News! Many thanks! After a slow start, planning for this year's Davis Grad Night 2015 is underway. Veteran DHS PTA volunteers, Elizabeth Tinsley & Mary Nicholson, have stepped up to co-chair this years' event, and while others have offered to join them, the committee is still recruiting volunteers.
What is Grad Night?
An annual drug and alcohol free graduation celebration for
students graduating from the Davis Joint Unified School District.
Grad Night was developed in response to a growing problem of
alcohol-related car accidents and deaths involving recent high school
graduates. Grad Night has become a way for the entire community
to focus on a project conceived to save the lives of our graduating
seniors by providing a fun, safe event. Davis Grad Night is
sponsored, organized and operated by all-volunteer parents with the
generous support of the community. Typically 90% of the graduating
class attends the event.
But I'm Not Creative!
Can you use tape? That's really all the skill you need;
it's no more complicated than wrapping a birthday package! And if
decorating isn't your thing, then contact us to find out what fits your
interests and your schedule. There are literally hundreds of jobs
But I Work!
So do nearly all of the volunteers. The time
commitment for Grad Night can be big or small.
If you can give us only an hour of your time, we will appreciate
it. It is one of those "school experiences" that you won't want to
Grad Night is an all-volunteer effort and the last gift our community gives its Seniors before sending them out into the world. Please take a moment to see what VOLUNTEER POSITIONS are available and how you might be able to lend a hand.
